About Kevin Johnson
After acquiring the degree of Bachelor of Arts
in Speech Communications & Theatre at
Hampton University, Virginia in 1977,
Kevin Johnson spent one year as a Graduate
Assistant in the Theater Arts Department at
Bowling Green State University, Ohio and
two years as a Theater Arts instructor at the
Creative & Performing Arts (C.A.P.A.) High
School in his hometown of Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. In a career the has spanned
four decades, Kevin has performed as a lead
actor, singer & entertainer at prestigious
venues across the nation including
Pittsburgh's Kuntu Repertory Theatre, L.A.'s
Variety Arts Center, The Sahara-Las Vegas
& The Lincoln Center For the Performing Arts
in New York City.

About the Los Angeles Recovery Theatre
Based on the excellent model provided by the
San Francisco Recovery Theatre Director
Geoffrey Grier, The L. A. Recovery Theatre
Project (A presentation of the Homeless
Artist’s Local Forum) predicated on the hope
that by providing a support group for
performing and fine artists in recovery we
can help create an environment of stability in
their lives that can be the spring board to
reintegrating these individuals into
mainstream society
About the Homeless Artist’s Local Forum
The Homeless Artist’s Local Forum was
founded by Kevin Johnson in 2003
The primary mission of the Homeless Artist’s
Local Forum (H.A.L.F.) is to assist performing
and fine artists in who are in recovery or
transition to achieve both their personal and
professional goals by offering creative
alternatives to the traditional approach to
treatment for the problems of drug & alcohol
addiction, domestic violence, and
homelessness in Los Angeles CA.
